Duties
  • Attending activities, programs, and/or events with residents
  • One-on-one visits with residents; spending time chatting, playing card games, doing puzzles, crafts
  • Accompanying them on walks either within the building or outdoors (weather permitting)
  • Miscellaneous duties as needed

Training Orientation ; Training is provided ; Scheduled training ; Training on the job ; Training on-going ; One hour orientation is required, as well as completion of online training modules/tutorials prior to commencing volunteer hours.
Transportation Near public transit - There is an Orillia Transit bus stop in front of Birchmere on Bay Street.
Police Check Required
Additional Requirements Volunteers over the age of 18 require a Vulnerable Sector Police Check, most recent covid vaccination when available, and training that will involve completing some online courses. Volunteers under 18 years of age require to have the most recent covid vaccination when available and must be supervised by Activity staff.
