Suggesting Updates to Database Listings

When viewing the full details of a community program, you will see the option to 'Suggest Update' just below the name of the organization and program. Clicking this option will allow a user to submit feedback to Community Connection's team of data curators. Users can also select 'Suggest Record' on top menu bar to suggest a new listing.

When Environment Canada issues an extreme heat or cold alert, rest areas are available to residents for relief from extreme weather conditions. These can include public buildings such as libraries or community centres during regular business hours. Other buildings such as malls or cinemas that have air conditioning/heating could also be used.In Orillia, the following locations are available:

  • Orillia Public Library, 36 Mississaga St W, Mon-Thu 10 am-8 pm * Fri 10 am-6 pm * Sat 9 am-5 pm * Sunday: CLOSED (hours resume after Labour Day)
  • Orillia Recreation Centre, 255 West St S, Mon-Thu 5:30 am-9 pm, Fri 5:30 am-8 pm, Sat-Sun 7 am-6 pm
  • Orillia Rotary Place, 100 University Ave, Mon-Sun 7 am-11 pm (varies depending on bookings)
  • Various splash pad available Mon-Sun 9 am-9 pm, see website for locations.
  • Two beaches are available - see website for more information
