Description (Service) COVID-19 assessment centre * out-of-hospital clinic where people will be assessed by a health-care provider, who will provide necessary care and treatment for your medical needs as well as instructions for self-care and follow up as required * if you have COVID related symptoms* and meet the current public health testing criteria you will be tested and those results will be communicated directly to you when they are available
Service Details
Public Comments During the COVID-19 emergency, regular care will be provided by your Family Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Walk-in Clinics and Urgent Care, and it may include phone assessments, virtual care or in-person assessments 
 
People who are unsure if they should visit an assessment centre should:  
* use an online self-assessment tool 
* first call your Family Physician or Nurse Practitioner 
* if you do not have a Family Physician/Nurse Practitioner or your regular healthcare provider is not available, call the Barrie & Community Family Medicine - Walk-in Clinics or the Huronia Urgent Care Clinic 
* If these options are unavailable, then you should contact Telehealth Ontario: 1-866-797-0000 
* people should not go to an assessment centre unless they have symptoms of the COVID-19 
 
At the assessment centre, you will be seen by a healthcare professional, who will provide you with the necessary care and instructions for follow up, if required. Patients with COVID-19 symptoms will be swabbed for the virus and will be notified of their results.
Hours Mon-Sun: 8 am-8 pm
Areas Served Muskoka District ; Simcoe County
Eligibility Individuals with: 
* a new or worsening cough and/or fever, and  
* in the past 14 days have either travelled outside of Canada or been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 
 
Individuals with mild symptoms should self-isolate in their own home until 24 hours have passed without symptoms.  
 
Individuals with severe symptoms should call 9-1-1 if in distress or go to their local emergency department and follow special signage
